So it’s been a while since I’ve updated. I can’t pinpoint a specific reason, but I supect it’s mainly because life is spinning completely out of control at the moment..no time to stop and breathe..I just keep rushing around. Anyway here are a few things I’ve done since my last update:
>I finsihed reading “Eat, Pray, Love”…AMAZING book. I will probably read it again in the next few months. I started and finished “No one belongs here more than you” by Miranda July. I actually ended up reading a few of the stories about 10 times. I completely feel in love with this book. If you decide to read it pay special attention to the following stories:
-This Person
-Making Love in 2003
-Ten True Things
-The Shared Patio
I’ve started reading two other books..”A Long Way Down” by Nick Hornby and “Dispatces from the Edge: A Memoir of War, Disaster and Survial” by Anderson Cooper. So far, both are pretty amazing reads. Cooper’s memoir isn’t for the weak of heart, he recounts some truly agonizing scenes.
>Last weekend I traveled to Jacksonville to spend the weekend with my friends Elise and Cat. It was a great time. We spent most of the weekend talking, which to be quite honest was exactly what I needed. It was good to get out of town and simply be in a different environment.
>I swtiched over from being the Night Editor here at The Free Press to a Staff Writer, something I’m really excited about. I’m still getting my feet wet, but hopefully in the next week or so I’ll get the hang of everything. I was a writer for my collge newspaper, but it’s certainly a different game at a daily newspaper. I look forward to brining the community relevent stories that will realy impact lives. I wanted to become a journalist so that I could give a voice to those who don’t have the means to speak out. I look forward to telling their stories.
>Just for fun……
There has been a “note” going around Facebook. Basically you are supposed to list 25 random things about yourself and share it with other people. I suspect that the purpose is so that we can learn more about the people we come into contact with on a daily basis. I thought I would share my list here. I doubt people who actually know me won’t be surpsrised by any of these.
